Welcome to Amazing Brains

I am a qualified teacher and SENDCo and I have worked in schools for 14 years.

I am a qualified Specialist Dyslexia teacher and assessor. I am an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA), a PATOSS Professional Member and I hold an Assessing Practising Certificate (APC). I can teach and assess pupils up to 18 years of age.

  • Associate

Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) indicates a high standard of professional competence in both diagnostic assessment and teaching. AMBDA is now the professional membership required for all those applying for and holding an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) issued by the BDA. The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) approves holders of AMBDA to formally assess and make recommendations for exam access arrangements.

“Dyslexia is a specific learning ability, neurobiological in origin. It is typically characterised by strengths that may include creative expression, athletic performance and scientific discovery. The individual with dyslexia often exhibits strengths in big-picture concepts, thinking outside the box, making unexpected connections and demonstrate an intuitive sense of understanding of people and navigating the natural world…”
